To spread Japanese traditional culture overseas
Konnichiwa! Hallo everyone!
Dentoya Akatsuki will be exhibiting at Japan Expo in Paris, France this summer!!!!!
It's been 3 years since the store opened.
It's finally time to expand overseas!!!!!
【Japan Expo homepage】
I think many people ask "What is Japan Expo?", So this time I will write an article about "Japan Expo" and "Why do I want to participate?"
"What is Japan Expo?"
"Japan Expo" is one of the businesses of Japan Promotion.
Based on the concept of "supporting Japanese culture and the activities of its bearers," they are creating a platform to support public-private partnerships in order to spread Japanese culture overseas.
The purpose is to support sustainable activities with the cooperation and support of the government or public institutions.
In addition to Paris, they hold exhibitions and art fairs all over the world, including London, Taiwan, New York, Dubai, and Tokyo.
And this time, "Japan Expo Paris", in which DENTOYA AKATSUKI participate, is one of the largest Japanese expositions in the world with a mobilization of over 250,000 people.
The description on the homepage of Japan Promotion is as follows:
"There are various practical challenges in the cultural industry, including lack of successors, depopulation, economic conditions, etc.
We offer a wide range of options around the world, taking advantage of our unique VIP list, proposing inbound tourists, marketing and support for market development. "
Japan Expo Paris is positioned as the first market for Japanese products to expand overseas.
"Why do we want to participate?"
We, DENTOYA AKATSUKI wants to solve the problem that Japanese traditions and craftsmanship are not inherited due to the shortage of modern successors.
Therefore, the products of DENTOYA AKATSUKI
can only be completed with the skills of craftsmen.
We operates with the desire to support the unique technology and culture of Japan by utilizing traditional techniques for familiar items such as accessories.
However, it is quite difficult to convey this feeling.
It is difficult to convey even in Japan, but even more so when it comes to overseas.
That is why exhibiting at Japan Expo is so important as the first step in expanding into the world.
This is a great opportunity for foreigners to see and pick up the real thing and learn about Japanese traditions, culture, and craftsmanship.
There was no option not to challenge.
Looking back, I think that this timing was just right for DENTOYA AKATSUKI.
Two years ago, in the spring of 2020, Japan Promotion asked us, "Why don't you join Japan Expo Paris?"
I was preparing to participate, but the COVID-19 spread all over the world and "Japan Expo Paris" was canceled.
It was also canceled in 2021.
Then, in 2022, it was finally held, and the opportunity came again.
Over the last two years, I have met many people and made good connections through traditional culture.
We could exhibit at several exhibitions in Japan, sell it on consignment at museums, or choose it as a gift for TV programs.
From the time I started the store, I have become confident in the value I can offer.
Thankfully, some people say that they like the products of DENTOYA AKATSUKI.
I'm really grateful.
Customers who have been involved and supported us, including craftsmen,
I would like to make sure to achieve results for the Japanese culture and technology that I want to pass on for decades and hundreds of years.
However, when exhibiting overseas, we must clear the exhibition fee, travel fee, and stay fee.
I'm ashamed to say that I can't cover everything in-house at the moment, so I decided to do crowdfunding this time.
Crowdfunding will start on April 15th.
We would be grateful if you could support AKATSUKI's first step toward overseas expansion.
Even if the target amount is not reached, we will exhibit at "Japan Expo".
After all, I don't think I should miss this big opportunity.
Here is the determination of the representative!↓
Due to the recent surge in material prices and transportation prices, the prices of some products have been raised since April 1.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding.
We deliver you Japanese genuine skill with warmhearted crafts. We hope that we can continue to help you add color to your life with "tradition" and "craftsmanship".
